Meditation by: Rev. Kimberly Roy
Kimberly Roy has served in leadership within the United Church of Canada for more than twenty-five years. Over the years, she has supported every level of the church’s courts, most recently serving as past Co-Chair of the National Indigenous Church and as an Indigenous representative to both the General Council Executive and the General Council.
A Métis woman with citizenship in both Alberta and the historic Métis homeland of Manitoba, Kimberly lives on the Marlboro Métis Settlement west of Edmonton, where her family settled after leaving Red River. Raised largely in a settler environment, she has spent her life navigating tensions around identity in both the church and wider society.
